Wildlife
Monterey Bay is one of the world’s most extraordinary marine environments, home to an abundance of wildlife found nowhere else. Over the course of the retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to photograph sea otters at remarkably close range, seals hauled out on the shore, sea lions basking in the sun, and an astonishing variety of birdlife including pelicans, herons, egrets, and curlews.
Our private boat charters provide the best vantage point for photography, with ample space for equipment and uninterrupted views. The Elkhorn Slough, a protected wetland and bird sanctuary, offers calm waters ideal for setting up tripods and capturing once-in-a-lifetime shots of wildlife in its natural habitat.
Led by award-winning photographer Suzi Eszterhas, these outings combine expert instruction with exclusive access — ensuring you return not only with unforgettable memories, but also with exceptional images that reflect the beauty and richness of this remarkable coastline.

Day 1
Arrive in Monterey Bay and settle into your private accommodations in the Pebble Beach hills. In the evening, gather for a chef-prepared welcome dinner overlooking the coast. Suzi will share her insights into the extraordinary wildlife you’ll soon encounter, and Jennifer will lead a gentle session introducing her approach to supporting women through life transitions — from perimenopause to post-menopause. This evening sets the stage for the days ahead: an intimate group of just six guests, immersed in both discovery and renewal.

Day 2
Begin the day with a private charter on the calm waters of Elkhorn Slough, the best place in the world to photograph sea otters, along with harbor seals, sea lions, and an abundance of coastal birds. With such a small group, there’s space and time for personalized instruction with Suzi.
Return for a chef-prepared brunch, followed by a group session with Jennifer exploring practical tools for navigating hormonal shifts — from nutrition that supports bone and brain health, to gentle movement that reduces stiffness and boosts energy. Private sessions and spa options are available in the afternoon before a gourmet dinner together.

Day 3
Explore Point Lobos State Reserve, often described as “the greatest meeting of land and sea.” Photograph dramatic seascapes, Monterey cypress groves, turquoise coves, a seabird colony, and harbor seals resting on the rocks.
After brunch, each guest will meet individually with Jennifer for a private session. These sessions may include strategies for addressing post-menopausal changes in muscle and bone strength, stress reduction through nervous system support, or tailored nutrition advice. During this time, guests may also relax in the hot tub, enjoy a massage, or schedule a portfolio review with Suzi. End the day with another elegant chef-prepared dinner.

Day 4
Return to Elkhorn Slough for another private charter, focusing on sea lions, harbor seals, and birdlife. Suzi will help you refine your technical skills and expand your portfolio with new compositions and perspectives.
Afternoons with Jennifer focus on restoring energy and balance — with emphasis on supporting cognitive function, easing stress, and building vitality through small, sustainable practices that continue long after the retreat. As always, spa treatments, rest, or one-on-one mentoring are available. Conclude the day with a relaxed and memorable dinner.

Day 5
On the final morning, enjoy a chef-prepared brunch together before departure. Instead of another otter outing, we will focus on capturing Monterey Bay’s coastal landscapes — a fitting way to close the retreat, with sweeping views and a sense of completion. Jennifer will guide a brief closing session offering simple, lasting tools to help you continue feeling strong, supported, and balanced in your daily life. Guests leave with unforgettable images, a renewed connection to their bodies, and memories of a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
